Why we started Swiss Snack Box
We've always loved good food and great company. But too often, Friday evenings began with the same frustration: no snacks at home. We'd either make do with what we had or rush to the nearest petrol station. We thought - what if you could simply order a ready-made snack box and spend that time together instead?
That's how the idea for the Swiss Snack Box was born. And we didn't stop there. Every occasion deserves its own selection, so we created two different snack boxes (Movie Night Box and Swiss Box) around different themes - ones that save you time and bring joy when you unpack them.
From the very beginning, it was clear to us that we wanted to create more than just snacks shipped in a box. Our goal was to craft a beautiful, gift-worthy experience. That's why we pay attention to small details like the handwritten postcard, a popcorn bag for making homemade popcorn, a handwritten food guide, custom-designed stickers, and much more.
The idea for the Swiss Box actually came long before we officially launched. Through travelling, our founder made friends from all over the world. One way to stay connected was to send each other letters and parcels filled with specialities from their home countries. Every package was a highlight, full of new flavours and happy memories. A friend from Japan helped our founder see Switzerland with fresh eyes and appreciate just how much our country has to offer. Why not share that joy with the world?
At first, we wondered whether Switzerland offered enough variety. Months of research proved that it does. It was wonderful to relive old childhood memories, to taste snacks we hadn't eaten in years, and to discover a renewed love for Switzerland and for food. The result is a carefully curated box that we'd love to receive ourselves.
